World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF), is an international organization that connects eager workers of all levels of experience to independent farms around the world looking for help. The work is unpaid, but leaves you with a priceless experience. Your time at your WWOOFing location is a chance to separate yourself from the outside world, learn all kinds of new skills, and be a part of a close knit farming community.

Liberty Vista Maui

The setting for my WWOOFing adventure will be Hawaii - upcountry Maui to be exact - at a farm called Liberty Vista. At any given time, they host up to 10 WWOOfers at once. The farm is primarily centered around coffee harvesting and beekeeping. They produce coffee and honey, along with various beeswax products. I’ll be staying with them for approximately five weeks, during which time I’ll hopefully get to suit up in the beekeeper gear at least once!
